Ya Cheng received his B. S. degree from the Fudan University in 1993, and his Ph.D. degree from the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998. He is now a professor of East China Normal University. His research activity has mainly focused on nonlinear optics and integrated photonics. He is Fellow of Optica and the Institute of Physics - London.
